How to add a website to your Google Business Profile
No website yet? Put your PressaGen page's address in your Google Business Profile, so people who find you on Google Maps see your hours, menu and contact buttons.
Copy the address of your published page, such as https://pressagen.com/@yourshop, and paste it into the website field of your Google Business Profile. People who find you on Google Maps or in search then tap Website and land on your page, with your opening hours, photos, map and contact buttons.
Get the page ready first
The page behind that button is often the first thing a customer sees of you. Before you add it, check that it has:
- Your business name and one line about what you do, so people know they found the right place.
- An Opening Hours card with your weekly hours and the days you close.
- A Map & Directions card with the same address as your profile.
- A Direct Contact card with your phone number and the messaging apps you answer.
Publish the page first. A draft is visible only to you, so anyone else who follows the link gets a page that does not exist.
Copy your page address
- In the editor, open Page settings and publishing.
- If the page is not published yet, choose Publish.
- Choose Copy link.
Add it to your profile
- Signed in with the Google account that manages your business, find the business on Google Search or Google Maps and open the screen for editing its information.
- Under the contact details, find the website field and paste the address.
- Save. Google may review the change first; the Website button appears once it is approved.
Google asks for the website field to point to a page about that location. If you run more than one location, give each its own page and its own address, so nobody sees another branch’s hours.
When something changes
When your hours, menu or phone number change, edit the page and publish the changes. The address in your profile stays the same, and everyone who taps it sees the new version.
The one exception is a holiday or a special day: your profile keeps its own opening hours, so change both your page and your profile, or customers see two different answers. For the page side, see How to show opening hours and holiday closures.
Questions
Can I use my own domain instead of the long address?
Yes. Once your custom domain is connected, put the domain in the website field instead. See Custom domain. The /@ address keeps opening the same page.
I already have a social media page. Do I still need this?
A social media page often hides your hours below the posts, and visitors without an account may not see all of it. Your page shows hours, map and contact buttons together, with no sign-in. Link your social accounts from the Direct Contact card or the footer.
Start from a template
To see a shop page with hours, a map and contact buttons already in place, open the Alisan Forest Coffee cafe template and change it to your business before you sign in.
