Edit your page

Add, arrange and change cards on the canvas, apply a colour palette, and check the layout in mobile view.

When you finish, your page has the cards and colours you want. Every change is saved automatically.

The editor at a glance

  • The canvas in the middle is your page. Select a card to change it.
  • The toolbar at the top holds Add card, Canvas appearance and theme, undo, redo, the device views, save, a button that opens the page in a new tab, and Page settings and publishing. The buttons show icons only; hover over one to see its name.
  • Only one panel is open at a time. Press Esc to close it.

Add a card

  1. Choose Add card in the toolbar.
  2. Pick a tab: Content, Media, Sections or Features.
  3. Choose the card you want.

The new card goes right after the selected card, or at the end if no card is selected. It is then selected and its settings open.

On a phone-width screen you can also use Add card in the bar at the bottom.

Change a card

  1. Select the card on the canvas. Its settings open in a panel.
  2. Change its content.
  3. Under Grid Size, choose 1x1 Square, 2x1 Wide, 2x2 Large or Full Width.
  4. Choose Done.

Photos can be uploaded from your computer: a hero image, a gallery, an image card, a profile photo or a reviewer’s photo. Videos cannot be uploaded: put the video on YouTube, Vimeo or your own storage first, then paste its link into a video card.

Edit text on the canvas

Plain text on a card, such as a heading, a subheading, button text, a quote or its author, can be changed on the canvas itself.

  1. Double-click that text on the canvas. It takes a blue outline.
  2. Type.
  3. Press Enter, or click elsewhere on the canvas, to keep it; press Esc to leave the text as it was.

This is the same change as one made in the settings panel: it is saved automatically, and Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac) undoes it.

Rich text, list items and table cells are changed in the settings panel. Editing on the canvas is not offered at phone width; use the settings panel there.

Arrange cards

  • Point at a card to show its toolbar, then hold the handle (Drag to reorder) and drag the card to a new spot.
  • Or choose Move up or Move down to move it one place at a time.

Duplicate or delete a card

  • Duplicate: choose Duplicate card on the card’s toolbar, or select the card and press Ctrl+D (Cmd+D on a Mac). The copy goes right after the original.
  • Delete: choose Delete card on the card’s toolbar, or select the card and press Delete. You are not asked to confirm; if you delete the wrong card, press Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac) to undo.

Take a card to another page

A card you have finished can be moved whole to another page of your own.

  1. Choose Copy to the clipboard, to paste into another page on the card’s toolbar, or select the card and press Ctrl+C (Cmd+C on a Mac).
  2. Open the editor for the other page.
  3. Press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on a Mac). The card is placed after the selected card, or last when nothing is selected.

The clipboard lives in this browser on this computer: another computer, another browser, or clearing your browsing data leaves it empty. Images on the card keep their own addresses and are not uploaded again.

Theme and colours

  1. Choose Canvas appearance and theme in the toolbar, or click an empty part of the canvas.
  2. Open the panel’s last tab and choose a palette under Theme Palettes. It sets the primary, accent, background and text colours together.
  3. To fine-tune, change Primary Brand Color, Accent Highlight Color, Canvas Background Color or Primary Text Color.

The other tabs set the width, alignment and spacing of the box that holds the cards, the page background (a solid colour, a gradient or a photo), and the surface, corners, border and shadow of that box. On the card surface tab, Page corners rounds every card on the page at once; a card that sets its own corner radius keeps it.

Check the mobile view

  1. Choose Switch to Mobile View in the toolbar.
  2. Check how the cards are arranged at phone width.
  3. Choose Switch to Desktop View to go back.

The device view buttons appear on screens at least 640 pixels wide. For the most accurate check, open the page on your own phone: while you are signed in to the same account, you can see it even as a draft.

Saving

  • Changes are saved automatically about a second after you make them. Once the page has been saved since you opened the editor, hover over the save icon in the toolbar to see when.
  • To save right away, press Ctrl+S (Cmd+S on a Mac). The save icon cannot be clicked while a save is in progress.
  • Undo goes back up to 49 steps from the time you opened the editor.
