How to use it

  1. Drop a photo on the box, or choose one: a JPEG, PNG or WebP file up to 25 MB.
  2. Crop it, set its size, turn it or change its brightness. You see each change at once, and Undo steps back.
  3. Pick a file type and download the new file. Your original stays as it was.

Questions

Why is nothing uploaded?

Your browser makes the changes with its own image tools. The photo stays on your computer, and no server ever receives it. So private photos are safe here too.

How big should share images and Instagram posts be?

A link's share image on LINE or Facebook is usually 1200 × 630 pixels, which the 1.91:1 choice makes from a large enough photo. Instagram suggests 1080 pixels wide, and 1:1 and 4:5 are its usual shapes.

Does cropping lower the quality?

Cropping, rotating and flipping leave the pixels you keep unchanged. Saving as WebP or JPEG compresses them a little, and at quality 82 the difference is hard to see; PNG loses nothing. Making an image smaller does drop detail, so keep your original.

Will a transparent background disappear?

WebP and PNG keep transparent areas. JPEG has no transparency, so those areas turn white.

What does an iPhone save?

iPhone browsers cannot write WebP, so choosing WebP there gives you JPEG, or PNG if your image was a PNG. Choosing JPEG or PNG gives you exactly that.
