Publishing and your page address

Check what is still the template's, publish a draft so anyone can open it, see who can view a draft, and change your page address.

Once you publish a page, anyone can open it at https://pressagen.com/@your-address. Until then the page is a draft that only you can see while signed in.

Check what is still the template’s

A page made from a template starts with the template’s sample words and pictures. The replacement checklist lists the ones you have not changed yet.

  1. In the editor, choose the Replacement checklist icon in the toolbar, or open Page settings and publishing and choose Open the replacement checklist.
  2. Next to each item, choose Edit this field for text, or Replace with your own picture for a picture.
  3. An item ticks itself off once you have changed it, and the list counts how many you have replaced.

The checklist is only a reminder. It never stops you from publishing.

Publish a page

  1. In the editor, choose the gear icon in the toolbar, Page settings and publishing.
  2. Choose Publish.

The panel then shows Published with the page address, Copy link and Open page. The editor’s top corner and the page’s card on your dashboard also show Published.

After you publish, your changes are saved automatically about a second after you make them. Visitors see them when they reload the page, so there is no need to publish again. Undo (Ctrl+Z) restores page content only; it never changes whether the page is published or its page address.

Switch back to draft

  1. Open Page settings and publishing.
  2. Choose Switch to draft next to the status.
  3. In the confirmation, choose Switch to draft again.

The page becomes a draft again, and anyone else who opens its address sees Page not found.

Who can see a draft

  • Only the page’s owner, and only while signed in.
  • Everyone else, including other accounts and search engines, sees Page not found at the draft’s address.
  • When you open your own draft, a banner at the top says it is a draft and offers a link to open the editor.

Change your page address

The page address is the part after /@. You choose it.

  1. In Page settings and publishing, find your page’s address (/@your-address) under the page name and choose it.
  2. Type the new address and wait until the line under the field says it is available.
  3. Choose the save button, or press Enter.
  4. If the page is published, a confirmation appears first; choose Change address.

A page address must follow these rules:

  • 3 to 30 characters.
  • Lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens only, with no hyphen at the start or end and no two hyphens in a row.
  • Not a word reserved by the system, a protected trademark, a restricted word or an official template’s address.
  • Not used by another page.
  • Not an address that another account let go of in the last 30 days.

How changes work:

  • You can change a page’s address once every 7 days. The first change after you create the page has no wait.
  • Changing back to the address you just left counts as an undo: it has no 7-day wait and does not start a new one.
  • When you change a page’s address or delete the page, the old address is held for 30 days, so no other account can take it straight away.

After you change the page address, the old address sends visitors to the new one for 30 days, as long as the page is published. Links you have shared and QR codes you have printed keep working during that time. After 30 days the old address shows Page not found, so update your links and QR codes before then.
