Your account and data

How you sign in to PressaGen, what it keeps, where the data lives, and what deleting a page removes.

You sign in to PressaGen with a Google account only. PressaGen has no password of its own and stores no password. This article covers what the platform keeps, where it is stored and how to delete a page.

Signing in and out

  • You can only sign in with a Google account whose email address Google has verified.
  • After you sign in, you stay signed in for 7 days.
  • Choosing Sign Out on your dashboard or in the header menu signs out this browser only.

What PressaGen keeps about your account

  • The email address, name and profile picture address that Google provides when you sign in, and your Google account’s identifier.
  • How you signed in and when the account was created.
  • Your account’s plan and when it last changed, and the subscription status, renewal date, customer ID and subscription ID from the subscription service.
  • A page address you let go of: when you change a page’s address or delete the page, the old address is kept for 30 days, with the page it belonged to, your account ID and the date the hold ends. It is removed when the 30 days pass, and when you delete your account.

Where your data is stored

Your account, your pages, the images you upload and your sign-in sessions are stored with Cloudflare.

Data your visitors leave

  • Newsletter: email addresses visitors leave in a Newsletter card are stored with that page. Choose Export CSV in the card’s settings to download the list. PressaGen does not send email to your subscribers for you.
  • Views: for each page, only the number of views per day is recorded, by UTC date, with no visitor IP address and no cookie. Crawlers, such as search engines and the fetchers that build link previews, are not counted, and neither are template previews. Your dashboard shows Today’s Views and Past 7 Days on each page’s card.

Delete a page

  1. On your dashboard, find the card of the page you want to delete.
  2. Choose Delete.
  3. Confirm in the dialog that appears.

Deleting cannot be undone. The page content, its newsletter subscribers, its messages and its daily view counts are deleted together, and so are the images you uploaded that only this page uses; images another of your pages still shows are kept. If the page has a custom domain, the domain is released too, so remember to delete the CNAME record at your DNS provider. The page’s address is held for 30 days, so no other account can take it straight away.

Delete your account

  1. On your dashboard, find Delete this account.
  2. Choose Delete account, type the address you sign in with, and confirm.

Every page you own is deleted the same way deleting a page one at a time would delete it, then the account itself, and you are signed out everywhere. It cannot be undone.

If your Pro subscription is set to renew, cancel it first with Manage subscription on your dashboard; until then the deletion is refused, because a subscription outliving the account would keep billing you. A subscription you have already cancelled does not hold up the deletion, and deleting the account ends Pro at once. See The Pro plan.

Messages you sent us through the contact form are kept as our record of that conversation, and whatever the payment service holds about you as a customer is kept under their policy. Both are stated in the Privacy Policy.
