Two or three photos of the break, with a ruler beside it, on LINE or by email.
Within two weeks we reply with a price and the date your piece will be ready.
Your piece joins the month we name. We take a set number of pieces each month.

What a repair costs
| Repair | Price |
|---|---|
| A small chip | from ¥3,000 |
| Broken in pieces | priced from your photos |

Why it takes months
Urushi lacquer hardens only in warmth and humidity, so each layer waits before the next. Joining the pieces with mugi-urushi, a paste of lacquer and wheat flour, takes about two weeks on its own. Then come sanding, more lacquer and, last, the gold.

Two of us at one bench
Sawako Tsuzuki lacquers and gilds every piece. Kanata Mitsuya photographs each one as it arrives and as it leaves, and answers every message. We work through one month's list at a time.
Before you send a piece
Can I eat and drink from it again?
We suggest using it as before, hot food and drink included. Keep it out of the microwave, dishwasher and oven, away from open flame, and don't leave it to soak.
How long will it take?
Most repairs take one to three months; a piece in many fragments can take half a year or more. You get a date with the price.
What can you mend?
Pottery and porcelain: bowls, cups, plates and vases. For anything else, send photos and we will tell you.
