Build notes
A-Lun found it under a tarp behind a Changhua orchard: a mid-eighties 250 cc four-stroke single that had not turned over in eleven years. He wanted a bike that would climb the old road to the tea farms above Lishan every weekend and still start on a cold morning. We stripped it to the frame, blasted it and powder-coated it in satin black, and rebuilt the engine with new rings, valve seals and a cleaned carburettor. The wiring is new and labelled, with every fuse where a thumb can reach it. Twin-piston brakes up front, dual-sport tyres, a flat seat stitched by a saddler in Lukang, and the tank in the yellow of a Taiwanese plate. It pulls cleanly to the top of the pass, and it is not for sale.
