Patan, Nepal

Niraj Tamrakar

Black-and-white photographs of Patan's lanes and temple squares before sunrise. Buy a print, join a Saturday walk or read Kuhiro, my zine of foggy mornings.

Saturday photo walks

WhenThe walk
Saturdays, 06:00NPR 2,500. Two hours from the steps of Patan Durbar Square through the lanes behind it, ending with tea. Eight people at most.
First Sunday, Dec to Feb, 05:30NPR 3,500 with the bus back. The fog walk in Bhaktapur, from Taumadhi Square, in the slowest light of the year.
Any morningNPR 9,000. A private walk for one to four people, at the hour and in the lanes you choose.

Niraj kept stopping a few seconds before the light changed. Two hours, four lanes, and I came home with the best pictures I have made in Nepal.
