Deels, made to measure
I'm Khaliun Gerelchuluun. I sew deels by hand in my Ulaanbaatar studio, a few each season, each one cut for one person. Places open a few at a time, so there is a list.

What I make
Silk, for a wedding or a holiday: lined, with the clasps sewn on by hand. Wool, for every day: cut a little roomier, to go over a sweater. Cotton, for every day: unlined, the lightest I make. Brocade, for a deel that is itself the occasion.

How it goes
First I measure you at my studio. Then one fitting, when the deel is basted together. Then you collect it. How many weeks it takes depends on the fabric. I tell you when you apply.
I'd rather make a few deels well than many in a hurry.
A few places each season
I open only a few places each season. When one opens, I write to the next person on the list. The price depends on the fabric. I give it to you in writing after the first measuring.

Khaliun Gerelchuluun
Tailor, Ulaanbaatar
My aunt taught me to sew a deel at her kitchen table. Now I work alone, so I take only as many as I can sew well.
Before you apply
How long will I wait?
It depends on how many people are ahead of you and on the fabric you choose. When I reply, I tell you where you are on the list.
Can I bring my own fabric?
Yes. Bring it to the first measuring, and I'll tell you if there is enough for the deel you want.
Can you send a deel abroad?
Please write to ask.
